The EC has directed Chief Electoral Officers of 22 states/UTs to complete the preparatory work for the SIR of electoral rolls, expected to start from April. The states/UTs include Andhra, Arunachal, Chandigarh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu, Haryana, Himachal, J&K, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Ladakh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Delhi, Punjab, Telangana and Uttarakhand.
