Sri Lanka Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath, in a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Qi Zhenhong, called for urgent assistance from China to restore bridges and railway tracks damaged by Cyclone Ditwah. China earlier donated $1 million in cash and $1.4 million worth of relief goods. As many as 638 people died as the cyclone hit Sri Lanka in November.
