Maruti Suzuki Chairman RC Bhargava said low cost, small cars are "necessary in our economic and social conditions". "We are confident that rural market will revive and many scooter owners there are looking to upgrade to small cars," he added at Maruti's AGM on Tuesday. Bhargava further said that temporary dip in demand for small cars won't change Maruti's strategy.
