Social media firms pay $27 mn in US school lawsuit: Report

A Kentucky school district secured about $27 million in settlements from Meta and other social media firms over claims their platforms contributed to a student mental health crisis, Reuters reported. Meta agreed to pay $9 million, the largest share of the settlement. It included no admission of wrongdoing or commitments to change the platforms.
