Education reformist and climate activist Sonam Wangchuk on Sunday began a seven-day hunger strike in Ladakh. His fast comes a day ahead of talks between the Centre and a delegation of the Kargil Democratic Alliance who are seeking full statehood and constitutional safeguards under the sixth schedule. It is Wangchuk's second climate fast in the past six months.
