South Africa refused to hand over G20's rotating presidency to what it considered a "junior" US representative. "US is a member of G20, and if they want to be represented, they can still send anyone at the right level," South Africa minister Ronald Lamola said. He explained the "right level" would be head of state, special envoy or a minister.
