South India's first underground air-conditioned (AC) market has opened in Bengaluru. The ₹13-crore Palike Bazaar, located near Vijayanagar metro station and bus stand, was inaugurated by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Vijayanagar MLA M Krishnappa. The market spans 1,365 square metres and has a total of 79 shops. It has been designed along the lines of Delhi's Palika Bazaar.
