The number of South Koreans who got married last year hit a record low, data released by Statistics Korea showed. Around 1,91,700 marriages took place in 2022, down 0.4% from a year earlier. This comes as the country grapples with a chronic decline in its birth rate. According to data, South Koreans who married foreign spouses jumped 27.2% last year.
