Southampton manager Eckert fined ₹30 lakh, given suspended 6-week ban over spygate row

Southampton manager Tonda Eckert has been handed a suspended six-week ban and fined £28,000 (over ₹30 lakh) for his involvement in the spygate row. Eckert admitted authorising the observation of training sessions of Oxford United, Ipswich Town and Middlesbrough last season. Notably, Southampton were expelled from the EFL Championship playoff final for the 2026-27 season over the incident.
