DGP Atul Verma recommended the immediate suspension of Shimla SP Sanjeev Kumar Gandhi on the grounds of gross misconduct, insubordination and dereliction of duty. This comes after the Shimla SP accused Verma of "misusing his power" during the investigation of the Chief Engineer Vimal Negi's death case. DGP said that Shimla SP "made unsubstantiated and inappropriate allegations".
