A multi-drug resistant superbug, Enterobacter bugandensis, has been detected on the International Space Station (ISS), posing health risks to astronaut Sunita Williams and her crew. This bacterium, evolving in the ISS’s closed environment, could affect astronauts' respiratory systems. NASA is studying these strains to develop strategies to protect crew health.
