India's first vertical lift sea bridge in Tamil Nadu, new Pamban Bridge, has been constructed with stainless steel reinforcement, high-grade protective paint, and fully welded joints. The 2.07-kilometre-long bridge's 72.5-metre navigational span can be lifted up to 17 metres, allowing larger ships to pass underneath. Its special polysiloxane coating ensures longevity in harsh marine environment.

Security forces locked down the Canadian Parliament on Saturday after a man barricaded himself in the East Block section, police said. The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, which was passed by both Houses of the Parliament, received President Droupadi Murmu's assent, the government said on Saturday. Logistics firm Delhivery's board has approved the acquisition of shares equivalent to at least 99.4% of the issued and paid up share capital, on a fully diluted basis, of rival Ecom Express for a purchase consideration not exceeding ₹1,407 crore. "Post completion of such acquisition, Ecom will become a subsidiary of Delhivery," logistics firm Delhivery said.
