Speed of world's fastest spinning object reaches 300 billion rpm

Purdue scientists, who created the fastest spinning object in 2018 in the form of a dumbbell-shaped silica nanoparticle suspended in a vacuum rotating at 60 billion rpm, have increased the object's speed to 300 billion rpm. Researchers state that the spinning nanoparticle can be used to study nanoscale magnetism and the quantum geometric phase.
