Spending of corporate social responsibility (CSR) funds for setting up makeshift hospitals and temporary COVID-19 care facilities is an eligible CSR activity, Ministry of Corporate Affairs said. Companies can undertake the activities in consultation with state governments, it added. Earlier this year, govt had allowed firms to use CSR funds on awareness campaigns to promote COVID-19 vaccination.
