Indian sponge iron manufacturers have requested the government to impose export duties on low-grade iron ore to combat raw material shortages. This comes as exports soared, affecting the world's largest sponge iron production base, with India exporting 32.2 million metric tons of iron ore mainly to China, impacting prices and supplies for the industry.
