A Spotify spokesperson told TechCrunch that in an effort to combat fraudulent activity on its service, it "shared a communication with select users to reset their passwords as...precaution". Reportedly, some users got email from Spotify informing them their passwords had been reset “due to detected suspicious activity". Spotify recommended users to not use same credentials across various services.
