Spotted linsang sighted in Meghalaya’s Garo Hills for first time

Researchers have recorded Meghalaya’s first confirmed wild sighting of the elusive spotted linsang in a community-managed forest in West Garo Hills. Photographed during mammal surveys by SACON, the rare nocturnal carnivore was seen high in the forest canopy, extending its known range and highlighting the conservation value of community reserves in the state.
