Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan today defeated actor-turned-politician and BJP candidate Jaya Prada by over one lakh votes in Uttar Pradesh's Rampur seat. Azam Khan had made controversial statements during his election campaign, saying he recognised Jaya's association with the RSS as the colour of her underwear was "khaki". Notably, Jaya had joined the BJP in March this year.
