Sri Lanka on Friday approved the Oxford-AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine for emergency use, making it the first vaccine to get approval from the country's drug authority. Doctors warned of a collapsing healthcare system and asked the government to prioritise healthcare workers for the inoculation process. It is not known when Sri Lanka will be getting the vaccine.
