Sri Lanka eases return process for war refugees in India

Sri Lanka has introduced special immigration measures to facilitate the voluntary return of refugees in India who fled the island without valid travel documents during the civil war. The rules apply to those who arrived in India between August 1, 2006 and May 19, 2009. Refugees who left before August 1, 2006 must verify their Sri Lankan identity.
