Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa ran away after protestors surrounded his residence amid the economic crisis in the country, reports said. Protestors are demanding the resignation of Rajapaksa. Troops used tear gas and water cannons to push back demonstrators who breached the security barricades near the Presidential palace in the capital Colombo.
