Sri Lanka on Tuesday scrapped a deal to develop a major terminal at the Colombo port with India and Japan. The East Container Terminal (ECT) will be 100% owned by state-owned Sri Lanka Port Authority (SLPA), its government said. Sri Lanka had previously said the terminal would be 49% owned by India and Japan, with SLPA retaining the majority stake.
