An IPS officer in Srinagar gave ₹1 lakh to a 90-year-old street vendor after the latter was robbed of the same amount by burglars recently. While an investigation has been initiated in the case, Srinagar SSP Sandeep Chaudhary paid the amount from his personal savings to help the man. Reportedly, the man was saving the amount for his last rites.
