The Statue of Liberty of New York and the statue of Christopher Columbus of Barcelona were 'married' to each other, under Barcelona-born artist Antoni Miralda's 'Honeymoon project'. The symbolic wedding, set-up to mark 500 years of Christopher Columbus's founding of the Americas, aimed to "explore the exchange of ideas, customs and goods between the Old World and the New".
