short by Swati Dubey / on Tuesday, 30 July, 2024
Archaeologists have uncovered a well-preserved skeleton in Italy's 2,200-year-old "Tomb of Cerberus" in the ancient city of Liternum. Likely belonging to an influential person, the skeleton was found in a shroud, with grave goods including ointment jars and a Roman cleaning tool. The tomb, lavishly decorated with Cerberus and sea centaur murals, suggests it belonged to a prominent family.
