Strong solar storm strikes the Earth

A coronal mass ejection (CME) struck Earth in the early hours of Saturday and sensors measured a jolt of 22 nT to our planet's magnetic field, reported SpaceWeather.com. The impact sparked a strong G3-class geomagnetic storm with auroras in the US as far south as Arizona. A G3-class storm is strong enough to push smaller satellites around.
