Mental health interventions for school and college students are being carried out in 767 districts under District Mental Health Programme (DMHP), Minister of State for Health Prataprao Jadhav told the Lok Sabha. He said "emotional well-being and mental health" is a module under Ayushman Bharat School Health and Wellness Programme. His reply didn't mention mandatory psychiatrists or counsellors.
