Students can't be punished for asking questions: SC judge Justice Ujjal Bhuyan

Justice Ujjal Bhuyan said students should not be punished for asking questions, stressing that questioning and dissent are essential in a democracy. "Intolerance is at odds with the constitution. In a democracy, the right to question is not an act of defiance," Justice Bhuyan stated. Earlier, CJI Surya Kant faced controversy after he compared unemployed youth to "cockroaches".
