Students of Assam's Tezpur University have shut down the institution indefinitely, demanding immediate removal of the Vice Chancellor Shambhu Nath Singh, due to allegations of corruption. The Tezpur University Teachers' Association also extended their support to the agitation, forcing the administration to cancel all end-term examinations. The students have been protesting since September.
