Study explains prolonged effects of LSD

A US-based study claims to be the first to explain the long-lasting effects of the drug LSD. Held by serotonin receptors that regulate happiness and anxiety, the drug lingers in the brain for up to 12 hours. The findings could help chemists produce shorter-acting versions of the drug for clinical uses in anxiety or post-traumatic stress disorder.
