Study reveals 'how hot is too hot' for Indians as heatwave continues
short by Shalini ojha / on Monday, 27 April, 2026
A Harvard study found that wet bulb temperature is lower than 35°C. Wet bulb temperature is recognised as theoretical limit of human survival. Minimally active young adults can survive up to 31°C TwB in hot/humid conditions and only 26°C Twb in very hot/dry conditions. On heat-related deaths in India, it said heat worsens kidney function, sleep, diabetes, and respiratory issues.
