Study reveals change in birds' behaviour during 2024 solar eclipse

A new study revealed how birds behaved during the total solar eclipse of 2024. Based on anecdotal evidence, birds are thought to stop singing and engage in nighttime behaviors during a total solar eclipse. The study used bioacoustics devices and found that bird vocalizations significantly declined only where more than 99% solar obscuration occurred.
