Study reveals why muscle weakness triggers insulin resistance

Researchers from the Regional Centre for Biotechnology, Faridabad, found that removing the slow myosin heavy chain protein (a cell structural protein) in mice causes severe muscle weakness and type 2 diabetes by 6 months of age. The study reveals a direct molecular link between muscle health and whole-body blood sugar control, opening doors for new therapies and preventive health care.
