Study reveals why some people attract mosquitoes more than others
A study of 119 people found that different mosquito species are attracted to different human body odours. Researchers observed distinct preferences in Aedes aegypti, Aedes albopictus and Culex quinquefasciatus, linked to skin chemicals and microbes. The findings could help develop new ways to prevent mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, Zika and West Nile.
