A bipartisan House panel that is investigating the assassination attempt at former US President Donald Trump in a Pennsylvania rally in July called it a "stunning security failure". The panel added it was “preventable and should not have happened". "Federal, state, and local law enforcement officers could have engaged [the shooter] at several pivotal moments," the panel stated.
