Substantive law defines your rights and duties, for example, theft is a crime and has a punishment. Procedural law guides how to enforce those rights, such as how a theft case is investigated and tried in court. Substantive law sets the rules, while procedural law ensures fair enforcement. Both work together to keep justice fair and effective.
