All sudden deaths in Karnataka would be treated as "notifiable disease" and postmortem would be conducted in such cases, the government announced on Monday. The government should be notified if sudden deaths happen outside hospitals, State Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao said. This comes amid the surge in heart attack cases in the state, especially in Hassan district.
