A recent AIIMS-ICMR study reveals a rise in sudden deaths among young adults aged 20-40, often appearing outwardly healthy. Heart disease, especially severe artery blockages, was the leading cause, while genetic heart rhythm disorders and respiratory issues also contributed. Regular heart check-ups, avoiding tobacco and alcohol, and early detection can save lives.
