Sugar stocks tumble up to 3% after govt bans sugar exports

Sugar stocks fell up to 3% in early trade on Thursday after government banned the export of sugar from India amid domestic supply concerns. The shares of Balrampur Chini Mills and Bajaj Hindusthan Sugar fell nearly 3%, while shares of Renuka Sugars and MVK Agro were also trading in the red. The order prohibits the export till September 30.
