Singer Sukhwinder Singh Tuesday won a National Award for best playback singing for the song 'Bismil' from 'Haider'. Excited and happy for having won the award, Singh said, "'Bismil' deserves this appreciation and Gulzar has put in a beautiful soul in the track with his words". Sudesh Adhana, the song's choreographer, also won a National Award for his work.
