Sukma police celebrate Diwali in Hidma's now Naxal-free village

Sukma police celebrated Diwali with residents of Puvarti village — native village of slain Maoist commander Madvi Hidma — after it was declared Naxal-free. PM Modi also celebrated Diwali in Bastar with security forces, calling 2026 the first Diwali with every Indian district free from Naxalism, marking the end of decades-long Maoist insurgency.
