The Sun emitted three strong X-class solar flares on February 1 and a fourth strong X-class solar flare on February 2. Experts warned these eruptions may disrupt satellites, communication systems and power grids as solar activity continues to rise. NASA also released images showing a subset of extreme ultraviolet light that highlights the extremely hot material in flares.
