NASA has unveiled a 'quiet' supersonic aircraft that is expected to fly at 1.4 times the speed of sound or at 1,488 kmph. The experimental jet, X-59, is designed to disperse shock waves that typically surround supersonic aircraft and result in sonic booms. It will soon be flown over several US cities to check if it's 'quiet' enough, NASA said.
