The Supreme Court on Tuesday referred the petitions against the constitutional validity of the National Judicial Appointments Commission (NJAC) Act to a larger bench, which would be set up by the Chief Justice. The NJAC Act seeks to replace the two-decade-old collegium system of appointment of judges of High Courts and the Supreme Court.
