The Supreme Court on Monday refused to stay the Waqf (Amendment) Act in entirety, however, it stated that some sections need protection. The court has put on hold the provision that a person should be a practitioner of Islam for five years to create a Waqf. It also stayed the provision on the Collector's role in determining waqf properties.
