Surgeon explains why people struggle to sleep despite being tired

Jagdish Chattnalli, senior minimal invasive brain and spine surgeon, said mind can remain active even when body is tired, making it difficult to sleep. "This happens because...brain's internal clock, or circadian rhythm, responds not just to fatigue but also to behavioural cues throughout...day," he stated. Chattnalli added caffeine intake, exposure to bright or blue light disrupt this rhythm.
