Belarusian investigative journalist, ornithologist and prose writer, Svetlana Aleksijevitj was on Thursday awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize for Literature. The 67-year-old was awarded “for her polyphonic writings, a monument to suffering and courage in our time”. Author of Voices from Chernobyl, Zinky boys, War's Unwomanly Face among others, Aleksijevitj is the 14th woman Nobel laureate in Literature.
