Sweden has admitted that its traditional dish, Swedish meatballs, is actually Turkish. "Swedish meatballs are actually based on a recipe King Charles XII brought home from Turkey in the early 18th century," the country's official Twitter account wrote. King Charles XII, who began ruling Sweden in 1697, lived in and around present-day Turkey for nearly six years during exile.
