Switzerland's Terra Quantum claimed it used quantum computers to uncover vulnerabilities in commonly used encryption. It said the discovery "upends the current understanding of what constitutes unbreakable" encryption and could have major implications for firms like Google, IBM and Microsoft. IBM spokesman Christopher Sciacca said IBM has known the risks for 20 years and is working on solutions.
