Switzerland on Sunday rejected a proposal to cap its population at 10 million, with 55% voting against it, projections showed. The proposal was pushed by the Swiss People's Party, led by concerns about immigration, pressure on public services and housing. Such a move could have ended the free movement of labour between Switzerland and the EU, straining their relationship.
